About Inglewood House Self Catering |
Inglewood House is owned by Lesley Hirons and it was her much-loved home before becoming self-catering holiday accommodation. The main part of the house dates from 1738, with parts being much earlier, possibly 1650. There are a wealth of original features; look out for:
- Victorian bells that used to call the servants to the different rooms
- the 'portcullis' gate that is the entry to the cellar
- ornate plasterwork on the ceilings
- chandeliers
- beautiful fireplaces in many rooms
- hessian wall panels
- original flagstone floors
- uneven walls
- a 'window' in the ceiling of a passageway
- a door that goes nowhere
- a 'Jack and Jill' bathroom
- shutters on some of the windows
- a pantry with thick walls and evidence of outside windows
The house is situated in the village of Redbrook in the glorious Wye Valley, close to the delightful town of Monmouth. Do look at the 'What To Do In The Area' page to give you some idea of the wealth of activities nearby.
The house is available for groups of between 4 and 10 people, with a minimum of 3 nights' stay.
Quality self catering accommodation in beautiful surroundings.
